Hi, I am Tika. I am currently living in Toronto, Canada. In my previous incarnations, I was an Adult educator, Media Monitor, Editing Assistant, Translator/Interpreter, Specialist Teacher and English as an Additional Language educator in various leadership positions. I have also some curriculum development and instructional design experience. Over the years, I have been fascinated with the use of technology to support and enhance learning effectiveness. I believe technology is going to revolutionize teaching & learning, as well as training delivery in the next decade and beyond. Given this changing landscape, it is important to attend to developments in curriculum developments, instructional design and digital educational technologies.
The purpose of this blog is to record and share my learning experiences while completing the four courses - Learning Theories, Instructional Design Models, Digitial Media & Technology, and a Capstone Project - in the MicroMasters program with University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) in 2019/2020.
Later in 2021/2022, I expanded this blog by including reflections from two others courses from my Graduate study at University of Toronto, Canada. These two courses are Constructive Design of Online Learning Environment (CTL 1608) and Educational Applications of Computer mediated communications (CTL 1609).
