Audio can be an effective resource for learning design and development. This week I have prepared a digital audio resource for a workshop.
Lots of students in our 'How to actually get things done?' workshop shared that their sleeping and waking up routines have changed, and this has affected their productivity. I noticed that the change of schedules, and also the current pandemic situation have added to their anxiety. This must have affected their sleep habits. Many participants did not appear to give as much importance to sleep as it deserves.
Instructional Need / Objective - To explain the importance of sleep for productivity and overall well-being
Learning Activity audience - Students who are experiencing productivity issues due to inconsistent sleeping patterns

Reflection: I chose this audio resource because the topic was only tangentially relevant to our workshop. It was not possible to cover this in our existing workshop at length. So I prepared this resource so that this can be sent to the current cohort of participants as well as included in future sessions. Since the topic of sleep was something the participants found interesting, I decided to produce a digital audio material. This will be supplemented by a sleeping dairy, which participants use to record sleeping and waking up times . They can then reflect and share their experiences with other participants and in our future sessions.
I used Audacity freeware to prepare this Podcast. I liked the versatility of the software because it allowed me to edit and enhance tracks.
